Marcin Janusz’s pictures bring purely aesthetic satisfaction in terms of colour and form; the biomorphic forms in bright, slightly psychedelic colours create abstract arabesques. Other very interesting things take place on the level of the diverse painting matter. The ovalness of organic forms, combined with unnaturalness of pastel colours, arouses both curiosity and unease.

The term “biological narrations” I heard from the author perfectly expresses the character of his painting; it attracts the eye and absorbs because its subject matter is our body and the invisible processes occurring inside it. The abstractness of forms results from the ignorance of what is going on underneath our skin. It is a horror story: it involves poison (sugar) and pseudo-medicines (supplements), their effect on human organisms.

The complexity of physiological and metabolic processes which inspired the (seemingly) abstract forms corresponds with the complexity of technological procedures the paint undergoes. In addition to surprising aesthetic results, the technological experiments become metaphors of biological processes. It is an interesting and pertinent attempt at translating the language of biology/medicine into the language of art.
